History

Alternative Health Solutions, developed by Dr. James Perkins D.C., N.D., has been serving the greater metropolitan Detroit area since June of 1986. The original center, recently expanded and remodeled, is located at West Thirteen Mile and Farmington Roads in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Alternative Health Solutions has grown rapidly in the past decade, placing an emphasis on balanced health for the whole person. We have developed into a multi-practitioner healing center specializing in Chiropractic for physical medicine (including pediatric, geriatric and sports medicine), Naturopathy for metabolic and clinical nutrition, as well as Energy Healing to address and treat a variety of physical, etheric and emotional concerns. For many, only this type of care has enabled them to regain their health and return to a full and active life.

By offering comprehensive alternative health care to the community, Alternative Health Solutions provides patients with an opportunity to pursue proven alternative treatment for a variety of health conditions, rather than having to accept traditional drugs and surgery.

It is well known that, compared to other states in the U.S., established traditional medicine has held a longstanding dominance in Michigan, over natural and holistic methods of healing. Proactive efforts to curtail natural healing, have become a focus of the medical field, as well as pharmaceutical and insurance companies in recent years. One can now see in local ads and mailings from their local hospital, programs giving "lip service" to holistic medicine, in order to capture the market, while holding fast to traditional medicine, drugs and surgery. Our mission at Alternative Health Solutions has never changed in almost three decades. It states that we shall never compromise our orthodox approach in offering the community safe and natural methods of healing.

Today Alternative Health Solutions is a multi-practitioner natural healing center offering a naturopathic approach to diseases relating to nutritional and metaolic disorders, chiropractic, trauma release therapy, acupuncture and oriental medicine, auto-immune/allergy response therapy, rolfing, massage therapy and reiki
