Proven Remedies And Treatments
A poster on a wall of Dr. Perkins’ old office in Farmington Hills showed a woman, bent over and walking with a cane. Next to that, was one of a man with a golf club slung over this shoulder. He was the picture of health. The woman’s picture was titled “Without Chiropractic”, the man’s picture was titled “With Chiropractic”. Those pictures made a strong impression on me 21 years ago. I regularly visit Alternative Health Solutions for chiropractic care, to maintain a healthy body and active lifestyle. I can attest to the fact that regular chiropractic care has helped me to have a strong, healthy and active life.
Dr. Perkins is one in a million who has the ability and capacity to correct structural situations. My mom is 99 years old, and he miraculously put her out of pain from more than one accident. I recommend him highly to anyone for superior care and beneficial end results. He has the best personality too.

Dear. Dr. Perkins,
In the past 2 years, I’ve been taking both my mom and dad to quite a few doctor appointments. Most of these appointments have been with specialists. Retina, Glaucoma, Cardiologist, Cancer Specialist and Heart Surgeon. All of these professionals, although very good in their field, were terrible with the doctor/patient interaction. First of all they would not talk loud enough or slow enough so that my parents were able to understand everything they said. They didn’t attempt, unless requested by me, to make it more understandable for any of us. And the worst thing of all, they always directed their statements to my brother and me when mom and/or dad would be sitting in the same room. I had been so fed up and so disgusted with the whole medical profession, and then we came to you.
It was such a major thing for my dad to agree to come to see you. I’ve always told him all along how much you’ve helped me. That was all well and good, but he didn’t want any part of it. When his back kept getting worse and he was getting scared about what it might be, he knew that he would have to go to a doctor sooner or later. If he’d gone to his M.D. he would have ended up in the hospital with all kinds of tests. And also ended up with yet another medication. I explained to him in great detail how you would go about testing him to find out what the problem was. He agreed to go as long as he didn’t have to get down on the table or get adjusted. He was afraid of both of those things.
Here’s a man who is a World War II Veteran, who spent 3 1/2 years in a Japanese prison camp, and he was afraid of getting adjusted because of all the chiropractic horror stories he’d heard throughout his life. Dr. Perkins, you deserve the medal of honor for your professionalism, your compassion and for the skill and enthusiasm you share with each of your patients, in this case, my father.
You spoke in a clear, calm, loud voice, which my father was able to understand perfectly. You spoke right to him, looking him directly in the eyes, which by doing so was treating him with the dignity he deserves. Because you took the time to explain everything completely and simply, you were able to relax him to the point of getting him through the two things he feared; lying down on the table and having and adjustment. He came back for his second appointment yesterday and had yet another adjustment. His back pain is going away and he doesn’t shuffle his feet anymore when he walks. After the second appointment he had a big smile on his face. You could tell that he was relieved that he didn’t have anything seriously wrong with him and that he wouldn’t have to go through all those hospital tests.
I had no doubt that you would be able to help him. My doubts were in my dad as to whether or not he would trust you enough to let you do anything for him. He said on our way home that he never had any faith in chiropractic before, but he trusted Dr. Perkins and was glad he’d gone to see him.
You are so healthy in mind, body and spirit. I admire you for the person you are and for the work that you do. I thank you for treating my 84 year old father with compassion, the dignity and the respect that he and every other senior citizen has earned and deserves. Thank you and God bless you!
Dr. James Perkins has been my Chiropractor for over 20 years. I am 84 years old and he has kept this old body performing at a much younger age level. There have been times when I had to be carried into his office and with his fine chiropractic knowledge I was able to “run” out after having “limped in”.
Through the years the good doctor (Mr. Magic Fingers) has always found the ways to put me back in healthy shape having suffered knee, back and shoulder problems for these many years, whether it be an adjustment or Matrix Repatterning.
Dr. Perkins excels in not only great GREAT technique, but he and his staff are caring, conscientious, kind – not your usual crack and come back policy of other practitioners.
