Dear Dr. Perkins,

Our daughter was able to return to full time studies last fall in Florida. Her recovery was only possible through the collaboration of so many over the past years and the little miracles that materialized in answer to our prayers. Thank you for the work you did in the fall of 2007. The Matrix Repatterning helped unlock many areas in her body and allowed us to keep moving forward.

She never lost hope that she would one day return to school and overcome pain, isolation and the complexities of closed head trauma. There is still some work to be done, but we’re celebrating how far she has come.

At barely 21 years of age, (over 10 years ago), I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder of unknown origin. The symptoms were debilitating, and specialist after specialist offered nothing but shoulder shrugs and prescription drugs that were supposed to manage my symptoms. I have even had bloodwork done several times, and there are no longer any markers for the disease that I was once told I would have to live with, for the rest of my life.

This experience was so inspiring to me, I transferred to Wayne State University (from Michigan State), and switched my degree to study Human Nutrition and Food Science. I was lucky enough to work with Dr. Perkins in my last year of school, and he inspired me more and more each day. I actually went on to marry a chiropractor and not a day goes by, that I do not think back to my time with Dr. Perkins, and consider the model that he created and continues to implement at Alternative Health Solutions.

As my husband and I build our practice, we often discuss Dr. Perkins. Be it his commitment to his patients, his brilliance with regards to innate health, or the fact that he truly saved my life, Dr. Perkins is a true healer and an inspiration. I only wish that I still lived close enough to be his patient.

I can’t seem to find the right words to express how grateful I am to Dr. Perkins for taking care of my health in ways that traditional doctors were unable to. My medical history is a strange one: I’ve had a bone die in my foot that had since grown back, but the shadow of the injury remained. I had mononucleosis when I was 12 years old that continued to leave a mark on my adult spleen, making me constantly ill. My hips and pelvis would fall apart in ways that would be humorous if it were not so incredibly painful.

But, regardless of the injury, no matter where I was on the globe, Dr. Perkins and his staff have bent over backwards to help me. After years of regularly needing chiropractic care and matrix repatterning, I am happy to report that my body is finally holding itself together, all by itself. That is quite a statement considering the workload I put my body through as a dancer. Without my Alternative Health Solutions family, I would not be the happy and healthy person I am today. I was suffering from a whiplash injury I got in an auto accident and my neck was completely immobile and locked. Although I was only in this condition for a week, previous accidents caused weakness in the neck area. Past treatments with chiropractic care benefited me. However, muscle testing was not incorporated, and for that reason, I never felt the treatments were designed for me. I was being treated generically.

I was in my early 50’s and newly diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (a degenerative heart condition) and congestive heart failure. My cardiologist was about to place me on the heart transplant list, when I first met Dr. Perkins. At that time, my ejection fraction was 20% and I was so weak that I spent most of my time resting on the couch. Dr. Perkins told me that the heart is a muscle, and with proper support, and can heal and rebuild itself. I was skeptical and went to my cardiologist for a second opinion.

When the cardiologist said nutritional therapy would not hurt me, but it would not help me either, I decided to give Dr. Perkins the opportunity to treat me. Within 3 weeks under his care, I realized that I was no longer resting all day.

It has now been 11 years since I was first treated by Dr. Perkins. My ejection fraction is 60%+. The doctor of internal medicine gave me permission to wean myself off the heart medications.

Along the way, through naturopathy and chiropractic, Dr. Perkins has also helped me to overcome fibromyalgia, migraines, adrenal deficiency and onset of diabetes.

Currently, I am very physically active, exercise, ride my bicycle, and keep up with my seven grandchildren. I am so much more healthy than I was 10 years ago.

When I first came to the office, I had just generally felt very ill and sad. Dr. Perkins discovered a spinal cord inflammation that no one else had uncovered. He has also been amazing at diagnosing some hidden infections caused by allergies, upset and inflammation. Over time, these things have healed. I used to see a chiropractor for my low back pain. I saw him regularly and he always adjusted my low back area. It would feel better for a short period of time, but always hurt again within a few days. I finally came to see Dr. Perkins.

Through his method of testing, he found that my neck needed adjusting. He explained that my neck and low back work together as a team and compensate for one another, and that if he adjusted my neck, my low back would eventually release.

After a few visits, receiving chiropractic adjustments for my neck, my low back pain went completely away. It’s been 4 years since my first visit to Alternative Health Solutions, and I’m enjoying life without low back pain.

My husband and I have six children. We started bringing them to Dr. Perkins when our regular doctors were pushing all the new vaccines like Hib, Hepatitis B, and now this supposed new vaccine for girls to stop cervical cancer. I feel Dr. Perkins has helped keep my family healthy without all the drugs that traditional medicine so easily gives our children, including antibiotics.

Don’t misunderstand, we need both types of doctors and medicine. It depends on the circumstances, but natural is best. There are so many side effects from drugs.

I have a remarkable story to tell about my experience with Alternative Health Solutions and Dr. Perkins. My son had a severe head injury and developed a bilateral subdural hematoma as a result. He had surgery to remove the blood from his head by a neuro-surgeon and recovered nicely, until one week later. He became unsteady, dizzy, foggy and forgetful, and was deteriorating with his cerebral function including bowel habits, etc.

I called Dr. Perkins who came and examined my son. He said his brain function appeared to be in a state of shock and malfunctioning. He prescribed supplements and nutritional enzymes for cerebral function and my son gradually recovered. Within one week he was perfectly normal in function and appearance.

To this day, there has been no recurrence or residual disease from this event. I am so grateful we have our son back.

I am the lucky mother of three grown children who enjoyed a healthy upbringing through natural health care,… that is without traditional medicine. Thanks to Dr. Perkins, we were able to avoid antibiotics, finger pricks, throat cultures, and injections. We were never the type to rush to the doctor at the first little sniffle. But, when it came time to see a doctor, the first place we went was Alternative Health Solutions. Dr. Perkins was able to pinpoint my kids problems through muscle testing. Whether it was strep, staff, virus, parasites, or allergies. For colds, skin rashes, sleeplessness, upset stomachs, and even ear and toothaches, we followed his recommendations. Instead of a cupboard full of prescription medicines, we had a cupboard full of natural, organic whole food supplements, and homeopathic remedies that really worked. Whether at home or traveling, we always knew what to keep on hand or bring along. Believe me when I say, this saved more than one family vacation from the thing that wrecks the best laid plans – sick kids! What peace of mind we had, compared to so many other families we’ve known while raising our kids.

One year we went to the Michigan State Fair and we put our kids on a water ride, which contained contaminated water. We realized this only too late, when we got their stinking shoes and socks off once home from the fair. Soon after, one of our sons developed a very bad skin rash on his arms and legs, and torso. Through muscle testing, Dr. Perkins determined that our son had been exposed to Staphylococcus (bacterial staff), and his skin was severely infected. He prescribed a natural organic nutritional supplement (Standard Process), which in time, cleared up the rash. I’ve always thought of the hundreds of children who were also exposed. I wonder if those kids were prescribed creams and salves which may not have addressed the staff infection, perhaps suffering for years, maybe still to this day.

Dr. Perkins has been there for us through everything from fevers and ear infections, to bug bites and soccer injuries. I can’t imagine what we would have done without having someone to put our kids back together, and treat our whole family in a safe, drug free manner that we’ve trusted for decades.  How fortunate we have been to have Dr. Perkins knowledge of natural healing.

About 10 months ago, my 11 year-old son was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory bowel disease. This illness can be very dangerous, debilitating and even life threatening. Dr. Perkins is an extremely gifted healer and has helped us manage this condition, so that my son has been able to have very few, mostly mild symptoms, and lead a relatively normal life for a boy his age. Unlike the traditional debilitating and invasive treatments for this type of condition, Dr. Perkins has employed methods that are directed at strengthening the body’s own natural defense and repair mechanisms.

I remember the first time I saw you like it was yesterday. It was early 1997 and I was pregnant with my second child. I had been very sick with sinus infection type symptoms for quite a while. I had seen an M.D. several times and was given an antibiotic each time, which had its own repercussions. I wasn’t getting any better and the symptoms kept recurring.

My best friend, now my husband had been seeing you for years. He told me about you and the things you do. To be perfectly honest, it all sounded a little hokey, but I was deperate to feel better, so I made an appointment with you. Thank God I did, because you got to the root of what was really going on just by digging deeper and asking questions. Then you asked what had I been doing prior to getting sick, and with that one simple question, it all made sense.

I had been painting indoors using oil based paint, with no ventilation or breathing mask. I had chemical poisoning from breathing in the fumes and that is what caused the sinus infection type symptoms. You gave me some natural pills to take for 3 days and told me I would probably feel worse for those 3 days, but that on the 4th day, I would feel better, and I did! The symptoms never returned.

Needless to say, after that I was a believer. Since then you have treated me for conditions literally from head to toe: TMJ, skin issues, hand and elbow issues, spinal issues, bladder issues and more, all with great success.

I now work with M.D.’s and still schedule appointments to see you before seeing them. I don’t have anything against them. I would just rather get well the natural way, and I believe your practices and treatments to be nothing short of a miracle.
